Obituary of Elizabeth L. Reynolds

Elizabeth "Libby" L. (Jacobs) Reynolds, 93, of Belfast passed away on October 21, 2013 at Harbor Hill in Belfast. She was born on July 1, 1920 in Sanford, ME the daughter of Alfred and Sarah (Lessard) Jacobs. Libby was a graduate of Sanford High School and went on to work in the mills there. She met her soul mate and husband, William D. Reynolds Sr., at a World War II military dance and it was love at first sight. They enjoyed spending all of their time together building cars, racing speedboats, fishing, golfing, and playing tennis. They particularly loved spending time with family and friends. Libby was also a talented seamstress and knitter. Her love of life was also expressed in her involvement in dancing, singing on stage in local talent shows and, in recent years, all the activities at Harbor Hill. She will be missed for her sense of fun, her deep appreciation of animals and nature, and her zest for life. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, son William D. Reynolds Jr., four sisters; Rosie, Zela, Valarie, and Kathleen; a brother Alfred. Libby is survived by her loving daughter Rebecca Reynolds and her daughter-in-love Carmen Knox of Swanville; Grandchildren; Michael, Cheryl, and their mother Pauline; Great Grandchildren; Micheal Jr., Michelle, Carly, Ashley, Paul and dog Mimi. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the Swanville Community Church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions in her memory to the Bangor Human Society, Bangor, Maine.
