Obituary of Herman Charlie Edgecomb
Hermon(Charlie) Edgecomb passed away Jan 1st, 2014 . Charlie was the son Of Ben and Marion Edgecomb and was born in Mass and raised in Liberty Maine.
He met the love of his life Sandra and together they started a family.
In his younger years Charlie had a variety of Jobs but he eventually settled in to the infamous location on Rt. 173 in Liberty, known as Edgecomb's Garage. Everyone went to Charlie with their vehicles and with their wrecker calls and even if they didn't need a repair it was a good place to hang out and tell a story. Charlie operated the garage for 30 plus years and met a lot of good folks along the way.
Charlie loved to talk with his buddies and went on various adventures with them. Charlie was easy to spot around town or out with his signature hat & cigar and was a very popular guy, it was hard to find someone that hadn‘t met Charlie. He was so excited when he bought his camp, and couldn’t wait for all his family and friends to come upta camp. Camp had a lot of stories in it (oh if the walls could talk) and lots of laughter and he felt like he achieved his goal of a home away from home and a place for all to gather with no worries and lot's of smiles and laughter. Charlie and his brother's shared a special bond and they had lots of adventures and advice, a lot of their fun took place at Ben's camp and later as it turned into Dale's camp, the stories grew even bigger.
Charlie liked poker and he was the king of bluffing, he very much looked forward to poker not just for the game but the friendships he had formed over time.
Charlie was lucky enough to of had 52 wonderful years of marriage with his wife Sandra and they we're lucky enough to make a ton of memories.
He and Sandra shared a lot of adventures along the way and did a lot of traveling , enjoyed watching the family grow, and he especially loved all the grandchildren and great grand children and loved their visits and phone calls.
Charlie is survived by his wife of 52 years Sandra, also by his four children and their spouses, Scott & Cindy Edgecomb, Angie & David Harriman, Lisa Edgecomb and Tammy & Mark Tuttle. He also had nine grandchildren, David Harriman Jr, Josh Campbell, Joe Harriman, Jenna Campbell, Crystal Anderson, Leah Clark, Ian Campbell, Christina Conway, Sam Edgecomb.
