Obituary of Charles Ginn
Charles R. Ginn, 76 or Washington passed away at a nursing facility in Bangor January 10, 2014. He was born May 11, 1937 in Fort Fairfield a son of the late Herman and Avis Nightingale.
Charles served in the US Navy from November 22, 1955 until January 2, 1963 as a flagger on aircraft carriers. He lived several years in Auburn, and most recently at Washington manor in Washington. Charlie loved history, Native American culture and was privileged to be a Navy veteran. His dry sense of humor often resulted in a mischievous smile.
Charles is survived by his two Sisters: Norma Graves of Winter Haven, Florida
Phyllis Shaw of Bangor, Maine as well as 7 Nieces and Nephews: John Graves, Ronnie Graves, James Graves, Mary Jane Woodside, Debra Littlefield, Colleen Urbach and Dale Shaw and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sisters: Faustina Clark and Janet Wardwell and brother: John Ginn.
The family would like to offer their thanks and gratitude to the staff at Washington Manor, Togus and Penobscot Bay Medical Center, Gina and Christine for providing care and enhancing the quality of Charlie’s life.
Interment will be at the Veterans Cemetery in Augusta, Maine. A memorial service will be held this spring
