Obituary of George Triehy

George Edward “Chummy” Triehy passed away at an Augusta Hospital on January 15, 2014 at the age of 72. He was born in Belfast, on September 14, 1941 to the late Edward L. and Edna (Seekins) Triehy. George was predeceased by his only sister Kathryn Triehy Payson, his brother in law George Payson and his only niece Lynda Payson. George is survived only by a few cousins, his guardian Jessie Rhodes and Laura Stairs, and a close friend Milford Rhodes. George was a down’s syndrome patient, so by his sisters wishes Jessie and Laura were made legal guardian to succeed her after her death. A very special thank you is expressed to the staff member of the Lamson House in Augusta, where George lived the last 4 to 5 years of his life. There was 3 other down’s syndrome patients living there, he really enjoyed his last few years he had. He went to fairs, shopping out to eat in restaurants, he went to take outs, McDonalds, horse-back riding, train rides, etc, all things he had never done before. There will be no funeral services held, a graveside service will be announced in the spring. Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home 182 Waldo Ave. Belfast, ME
