Obituary of Walter W. Ginn
Walter W. Ginn, 52, passed away Feb. 11, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 2, 1961 to Willard Ginn and Margaret Holland Ginn.Walter graduated from Sumner Memorial High School in 1979 and went straight to work. He was a very hard worker cutting and hauling wood, driving trucks for Cherry Point Products and Inland Seafood and operating his own business, Ginn's Trucking & Construction for 16 years. Walter served on the Steuben Vol Fire Dept., for 36 years, still serving as Asst. Chief at the time of his passing.He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Nancy Ray Ginn; son, Jason Pinkham; daughter, Julie Ginn and her companion, Kevin Crowley; grandson and light of his life, Jackson Crowley; and best friend Red dog all of Steuben; mother, Margaret; brothers, Joe and wife, Karen, Mark and wife, Kathy, Austin and wife, Tammy, and Robert and wife, Faith; sister, Teresa; sisters-in-law, Marita Dow and Lisa Johnson and husband, Brian; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Walter had an amazing spirit and a knack for making friends wherever he went. He will be missed by all who knew him.Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Steuben Village Cemetery. A memorial gathering will immediately follow at the Steuben Fire Station.
