Obituary of Walter C. Gordon

Walter C. Gordon Jr. (Junior), 93 of Waldo, passed away after a sudden, unexpected illness on February 18, 2014, at Ross Manor in Bangor. Walter was born in Belfast, Maine on July 13, 1920 to Walter C. and Bernice (Merry) Gordon. Walter accomplished many things in his life, one being he served his country in the U.S. Army. Walter was a World War II Veteran and a Bronze Star recipient. He was a hard working individual who through the years worked at the Docks in Searsport, Viking Lumber, Sprague’s Coal Company, Brooks Fertilizer, and he was a poultry farmer for Maplewood. He loved gold mining, hunting, fishing, camping and his collection of fruit trees as well as his gardens. Walter was predeceased by his mother and father, as well as a sister, Marie Russell. He is survived by his brother, Elton and Kay Gordon, a sister Carleen Hall, a sister Norma Duplise - all reside in Maine. He also leaves behind his 30-year companion, Marie Marshall of Waldo; the mother of his children, Ellen Gordon Porter of Belfast; his children: Arthur Gordon, Richard and Angela (Belden) Gordon, and Robert and Heidi (Harvey) Gordon all of whom reside in Maine; grandchildren: Melissa Price of Dover, New Hampshire; Chad Curtis, Robert Gordon II, Adam Gordon and Brock Gordon all of whom reside in Maine, and several beloved great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews. He will be dearly be missed by all his family and friends and many acquaintances he has made throughout his 93 years. A graveside service will be announced this spring. We would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses of Ross Manor, Williams Wing, for the special care that they showed Walter in his last days.
