Obituary of Ida M. Mitchell

IDA M. (LITTLEFIELD) MITCHELL, died March 5, 2014 at her residence. She was born January 3, 1927 in Prospect, Maine, daughter of Walter and Bessie (Seekins) Littlefield. Ida took great pride in raising her five sons and enjoyed the simple things of life which included gardening, dancing at the Blue Goose, cooking and spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years, Charles A. Mitchell Jr.; one son Jeffrey A. Mitchell and siblings Albert Littlefield, Alice White, Clara Hendricks, Earl Littlefield, Frances Gamble, Heschel Littlefield and Ruth Stone. Ida is survived by her sons, Bruce and wife Dorothy, Douglas and wife Colleen, Gregory, Kerry and wife Gegie; one sister Mildred Baker and one brother Walter Littlefield Jr.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Doug and Colleen would also like to extend a special thank you to Holly Tufts for supporting and taking care of Ida. Family and friends are invited to call at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast from 5-6 p.m. on Monday, March 10th where services will begin at 6 p.m. Spring interment will be at Pilgrims Home Cemetery in Monroe.
