Obituary of Gloria M. Cushman

GLORIA M. CUSHMAN, 83, passed away March 16, 2014 at Belfast. She was born in Bar Harbor, Maine on May 18, 1930, a daughter of Arthur and Marguerite (Tate) Hodgkins. Gloria attended elementary school in Rockland and graduated high school in 1964 from Belfast. She and her first husband pastored a church in Rockland for 13 years, retiring back to Belfast in 1980. After he passed, she married Harold Cushman in 1991. Gloria played the piano in church for most of her life, most recently at Mason Mills House of Prayer in Belfast. She was predeceased by her parents; her first husband, Allison McGray; and brother William "Bill" Hodgkins. Gloria is survived by her husband, Harold Cushman of Belfast; a daughter Karen Hill of Farmington; foster daughter Alana Rowe of Searsport; her sister, Cynthia "Cindee" Huston and husband Louis of Laurel, MS; grandchildren Jason Beaudry and Amy Lynn Beaudry; several great-grandchildren and a large church family. Graveside services will be announced in the spring at Grove Cemetery in Belfast . Those who wish may make donations in Gloria's memory to P.A.W.S., 146 Camden Street, Rockport, ME 04856.
