Obituary of Barbara Marie Robbins

Barbara Marie (Harriman) Robbins, 72, our loving mother, grandmother, mammy and sister went to sleep peacefully March 22, 2014 at EMMC with her loving family by her side. She was born June 27, 1941 in Camden a daughter of the late Merle and Beatrice (Lear) Harriman. Barbara attended schools in Northport and Crosby High in Belfast. She then went on to work at Maplewood in Belfast. She met her former husband the late Herbert Robbins at Unity Raceway. Barbara resided in Searsport until her passing. Barbara worked as a clam digger and later worked at Champion Mill in Bucksport retiring in 1990. She enjoyed sharing her pictures and talking about family history, writing poetry, cooking and making her own recipes and getting her granddaughter Kristy to be the tester. Barbara enjoyed the outdoors, digging clams, gardening, and traveling to see family and friends. Throughout her life she devoted herself to others. She will be greatly missed by all. Barbara leaves behind her two daughters Brenda Ritchie and husband Todd of Stockton Springs, Cindy Robbins of Searsport, son Nicholas Robbins of Searsport, 2 granddaughters Kristy Weaver and Brandi Robbins of Searsport, and one grandson Tyson Servisky; 5 great grandchildren Cyrus, Talon and Gabe Staples of Searsport, Jillian Swimm of Searsport and Corbin Servisky of Blue Hill, sisters Linda Pomeroy and husband Peter of Searsport, Verley Dooley of MA; brothers Leroy Harriman and wife Gail Harriman of Northport, Joe Harriman and wife Laura of Stockton Springs, and Dewaine “Dane” Harriman of AZ as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her former husband Barbara was predeceased by Virginia and Hugh Pomeroy Sr, her parents by marriage, a sister Alfreda “Toots”, brother Steve and Uncle Clarence “Rodney” Lear. A memorial service will be held 2 pm Saturday March 29, 2014 at Riposta Funeral Home 182 Waldo Ave. Belfast, Me 04915 where Pastor Gaul will be officiating. The Robbins family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Wall, Respiratory Therapist Jeremy, Lia and all of the nursing staff at WCGH for their exceptional compassion and care. Also to Dr. Bach of EMMC for the poem about our mother.
