Obituary of Elizabeth Finely

Elizabeth “Betty” Finley, 89, of Swanville passed away at her residence Thursday May 8, 2014. She was born March 24, 1925 in Lunenburg, VT a daughter of the late Joseph and Carolyn Germaine. Betty enjoyed gardening, sewing and spending time at camp. She was predeceased by her husband Bert Hunt, daughter Caroline A. Ward, life partner John Blanchard, sisters Dora Thibodeau, and Emily Tyler, brothers Joe, Bobby and Lois Germaine, and Frank Finley “Grandpa”. Betty is survived by two grandsons Bert Hamilton of Belfast and David Hamilton of Lancaster, PA, two nieces, Sue Garinger of Houlton and Shirley Gilbert of NH, and neighbors Thomas and Elizabeth Benner of Swanville and their children Johanna, Shannon, Robert, Carl and Zach. A memorial service will be held 1 pm Wednesday May 14th at Riposta Funeral Home 182 Waldo Ave Belfast, ME 04915
