Obituary of Pauline Freytag MacDonald
Camden — Pauline Freytag MacDonald left us May 21, 2014. She was born at her family home, The Holmestead Inn in Camden June 30, 1925, to Edith Long Freytag and Henry Paul Freytag.
Polly was married to Francis MacDonald for 46 years and raised six children. They were a devoted couple, always together, enjoying the activities of their children and grandchildren, dancing, running a business, politics and lobstering. Polly was a great sternman for Francis on their boat, the Sadie Brickett. She also worked in local schools for 25 years as a teacher's aide.
Remembering her with love are her six children and their spouses or companions, 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; Ellen and Brad Porter and son Ben; Elaine and Ken Mahar and children Josh, Amy and Reuben; David MacDonald and Deb Bailey, and his daughters Katie and Danessa; Paul and Betsy MacDonald and sons Corey and Mike; Edward MacDonald, Carol Sias and his daughters Melissa and Michelle; Robert MacDonald and his children Nick and Stephanie; her sister Marion Hall and three sister-in-laws; Dorothy Munro, Eleanor MacDonald and Shirley Hamlin; and Polly's companion of 22 years, Clifford Chater.
Polly was a vibrant and gracious lady.
