Obituary of Rene Dubois

Rene Joseph DuBois Jr, age 60, of Prospect, Maine, passed away peacefully at home on June 22nd, 2014 of natural causes with his loving wife Vicki by his side. Rene was a loving husband, a dedicated father and devoted grandfather. He committed his life to caring for the sick, and spent the majority of his adult life working as a traveling nurse caring for disabled children. Charity was also very important to him, and he was involved with several non profits who helped to provide food, fuel and clothing for the Native American peoples of South Dakota and Montana. His contributions and efforts were regularly recognized and he continued serving this cause until the time of his death. Rene loved life. He lived with the exuberance of a child, always finding the wonder in all of the worlds natural beauty, and with his wife Vicki by his side he explored much of New England, especially coastal Maine. His children and grandchildren were his other great love, and he spent the majority of his life surrounded by his loving family. He was a friend, a mentor and a teacher, and his broad smile and open arms will be sorely missed by all. Rene was born in North Adams, Massachusetts on December 5th, 1953, the son of Rene DuBois Sr and Claire (Booth) DuBois. He attended and graduated from Wahconah Regional High School in Dalton Massachusetts in 1972, and later matriculated from Berkshire Community College with a Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing in 1991. Rene married the love of his life Vicki (Jarvis) DuBois on August 31st, 1974, and at the time of his passing had been married to her for thirty nine years. Rene is survived by his wife Vicki (Jarvis) DuBois, his granddaughter Catelyn DuBois of Prospect, ME, his three sons Rene DuBois III of Prospect, ME, Philip DuBois of Etna, ME and Brian DuBois of Prospect, ME, his two daughter in laws, Angel DuBois of Prospect, ME and Maria Germann of Etna, ME, his father Rene DuBois Sr of Prospect, ME and his brother Bruce DuBois of Chesire, MA.
