Obituary of Thelma Hotham
Thelma A. Hotham, 85 of Belfast died Saturday July 12, 2014 at Harbor Hill in Belfast after a long battle with cancer. She was born January 2, 1929 in Belmont a daughter of the late Cleveland and Helen (Flagg) Tower.
Thelma lived in Freedom before moving to Taunton, Massachusetts where she lived and worked in a plastic factory for several years eventually retiring and moving back to Maine to be with her family. She loved her family, she especially loved grandchildren, great grandchildren and getting together with them to go out to eat whenever possible.
Thelma was predeceased by a son Danny Hotham whom she lost March 1, 2014; her sisters: Dorothy, Ruth, Eleanor, Grace, and Arlene; brothers: Carl, John, Cliff, Cecil and Harold.
She is survived by her two children: son Steve Hotham and his wife Sally and a daughter Charlene Grotton and her partner Derek Wilson and a daughter in law Judy Hotham; grandchildren: Tami Eastup and husband Dean, Noel Hotham and partner Donnie, Fred Hotham and wife Cathy, Charles Hotham and wife Heide, Ted Hotham and wife Danette, Heath Hotham and wife Taryn, Travis Hotham and wife Katie, Dina Giggey and husband Brad; great-grandchildren: Jimmy, Corey, Jesseca, Anthony, Alicia, Nathan, Daniel, Serena, Jordan, Matt, Nate, Summer, Grady, Rhylee, Avery, Brad Jr, Damien, Samantha, and Ryan; Thelma will also be missed by a very special niece Jean Oxton and her husband Larry as well as many other nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Harbor Hill Nursing home in Belfast for their loving care that they gave her during the short time she was there and the support shown to the family.
In honoring Thelma’s wishes no services will be held.
