Obituary of Joan A. Brewster

Joan A. Brewster, 85 years of Searsmont, unexpectedly passed away peacefully Monday, August 5, 2014, at Eastern Medical Hospital in Bangor. She was surrounded by her family. She was born June 10, 1929 in Charleston, Ma., daughter of the late Arlene and Edward Rightmeyer. Joan formerly resided in Easton, Ma. before moving to Sullivan and then happily retired with her predeceased husband Donald M. Brewster in Searsmont. Joan loved living in the state of Maine with Don and her Japanese Chin dogs. She was predeceased by a sister Lorraine Rightmyer Skelton. Joan is survived by two sons, Robert Austin and wife Peggy of Taunton, MA, Steve Austin and wife Vanessa of Indianapolis, IN, and step-son Brian Brewster and his wife Janette of Searsmont, siblings: Corrine Surrette and husband Peter of North Reading, MA, and George Rightmyer of Freedom, MA; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews along with several acquaintances and close friends. A graveside service will be held 1:00 pm Friday August 15, 2014 at the Maine Veteran’s Home 163 Mount Vernon Rd. Augusta with Pastor Warren Heath Officiating.
