Obituary of Monica M. Wing

Monica M. Wing, 34, of Northport, died unexpectedly on October 6, 2014 at her home. She was born on August 4, 1980 in Belfast, the daughter of Dennis and Jaylene (Curtis) Wing. She attended Mt. View Schools graduating second in her Class of 1998. She received her degree with high honors from the University of Maine in Farmington, early childhood education. For five years Monica was the art director at YMCA Camp Jordan. She worked at Bell the Cat. Monica was a devoted supporter of Belfast Area Children’s Center for the past several years, serving both as the director then as a teacher. She loved children and they loved her. She also enjoyed camping and kayaking with her significant other, Ron. Monica will be remembered for her creativity, her love of art, photography, gardening and her loving spirit. She is survived by her loving parents, her significant other Ron Parkinson of Northport, her siblings Stephanie Barrick and husband Kevin of Pennsylvania and Ryan Wing and wife Kate of Monmouth; niece and nephew, Kelsie and Adam; beloved dog Ruger and cat Tally. Memorial services will be held on Saturday October 11th at 10 a.m. at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast.
