Obituary of Phillip J. Dill

PHILLIP J. DILL SR., 70 of Montville, passed away on October 28, 2014 at Bangor. He was born in Gardiner, Maine on March 25, 1944 to Clifford and Marguerite (O’Reilly) Dill. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who grew up and raised his children in the Gardiner/Hallowell area. Phil was a member of several motorcycle clubs, an avid member of the union. He loved to cook, read, talk to anyone, watch NASCAR, spending time with family, especially the grandchildren and friends. He enjoyed being in his garage and being in Mike’s garage with Mike and P.J. He was predeceased by his parents and step-daughter, Nancy. Those who survive Phillip are his wife of 23 years, Doris Dill of Montville; children P.J. and wife Tracey of Chelsea, Peggy and husband Ryan of Augusta, Mike and wife Lesa of Pittston, Peter and wife Grace of Saco, Selena of Waldo, Lee and wife Shana of Swanville, Matthew and wife Tiffany of Montville; a brother Thomas Dill of Hallowell; sister Cindy DeLong of South Gardiner; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A gathering in his honor to celebrate his life will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 9th at Sheepscot Fish & Game, Route 3, Palermo. The family would like to thank the staff at Westgate Center for their loving care of Phillip. Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home, Belfast.
