Obituary of Michael Tofani
ROCKPORT — Michael Tofani, 66, passed away Thursday morning, Nov. 13, in his home.
He was born in Camden, N.J., July 4, 1948, to Alexander and Marguerite Tofani.
Michael earned his MD from Catholic University in Lille, France. He was married to Christine June 21, 1980 in Otisfield, ME. Michael took pride in his work as a psychiatrist, and he consistently exhibited compassion and a desire to empower others.
He loved spending time with his family. Michael was supportive and caring, and impressed upon his children the importance of selflessness and independence. In his free time, Michael enjoyed reading and music.
He is survived by: his wife, Christine; his mother, Marguerite; his brother, Thomas; his children, Vincent, Susan and Kevin O'Brien, and John; and, his grandchildren, Emmett and Luke.
Michael's spirit, refreshingly cynical sense of humor, and numerous talents will be honored with a celebration of his life at 4 p.m.Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Rockport Opera House, 6 Central St.
