Obituary of Virginia E. Thomas
Virginia E. (Deane)Thomas, 91 of Lincolnville, passed away on November 17, 2014 at her home. She was born on March 6, 1923 in Rockland Maine the daughter of Clarence and Carrie (Manning) Deane. Virginia waitressed for many years at the Samoset and the Whitehall Inn in Camden. She also worked at Snow Hill Lodge at Lincolnville Beach, Tibbetts Industries and at Knox Woolen Mill in Camden . Virginia attended Bayshore Baptist Church in Lincolnville Beach and was past vice president and chaplain of Lincolnville Women’s Club. Some of her favorite pastimes were sewing, quilting, making braided rugs, biscuits and pies. Virginia also enjoyed jogging, singing, kayaking and playing the piano. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she will be remembered as “Mom” to many.
She is predeceased by her parents and her spouse Paul Thomas Sr.; two siblings Robert and Raymond. Virginia is survived by her loving children, Carol Young and husband Steven and Deanne Crocker and husband Steven, all of Whitefield, David Thomas of Lincolnville, Paul Thomas Jr. and wife Rose of Bowdoin, Priscilla Jones, Larry Thomas and significant other Lorna Thomas all of Lincolnville; step-children Linda Colford and husband Ray of Orrington, Ellie Lou Eberly and husband Mel of New Holland, PA, and Fred Thomas of Waldoboro; brother Richard Deane and wife Jeanette of Lincolnville; her grandchildren Tara, Chad, Shane, Michelle, Ben, Aubrey, Anthony, Cheyenne, Chrissy, Joni Joy, Adam and Erica; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special friend Joyce Knight and caregiver and friend Mary Brannan.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. on Friday, November 21st at Bayshore Baptist Church, Lincolnville Beach. Interment will be held at Maplewood Cemetery.
