Obituary of Marie B. Grady

Marie B. Grady passed away January 2, 2015 at the age of 82 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Boston, MA on October 8, 1932, daughter of Thomas and Lillian Bruso. She later moved to Maine with her family where she attended Erskine Academy and met the love of her life, James Grady. They were married at Marie’s church in Massachusetts on October 14, 1950 and settled in Jim’s hometown of Palermo, ME. She became a homemaker for the family’s dairy farm and gave birth to four children. She was a member of Palermo Extension, The Sheepscot Fish and Game, and the Palermo Historical Society. Marie enjoyed picking blueberries, made the best apple pie in the world, and loved to go out to eat. Marie was predeceased by her parents, sister, Lillian Belden, brothers, Thomas and Robert Bruso, mother-in-law, Ruth Grady, grandson, Jeffrey James Grady, and granddaughter, Allison Grady. She is survived by her husband, Jim, children, Jeff and wife Lauretta Grady, Eileen Grady, Bill and wife Diana Grady, and Jason and wife Kathe Grady. Marie is also survived by her grandchildren, Bobbie Jo and husband, Scott Evans, Shawna Grady, Andrew, Samuel, Loralie, and Levi Grady, great-grandchildren, Cole and James Evans, Jacob, Kay, and Clara Grady, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Marie loved her family more than anything and was always there to provide us with love, support, and a good laugh. A celebration of her life will be held on January 10, 2015 at 10am at the Palermo Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may donate to the “Cara Roughgarden Memorial Fund”.
