Obituary of Norman Bisson

MILLINOCKET - Norman Bisson was born on Jan. 14,1940, in Waterville, the husband of Marion Merritt Bisson. He was surrounded by loved ones at home in Millinocket, when he went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 4, 2015. He was predeceased by his father, Perley Bisson, mother Jeannette Cote Bisson; brother Gerald Bisson; grandparents; and one great-granddaughter, Lakin Clines; and daughter, Tisha Marie Scott. He is survived by his sister Joan Melancon of Guam, brother Ronald Bisson and wife Rachel Bisson of Sidney; children, Peter Bisson and wife Debbie of B.C., Karen Bisson Martin and husband Daniel Martin of Winslow, Daniel Bisson of Winslow David Bisson and wife Michelle of Winslow, Donald Scott of LaRumorosa, Mexico, Shelly Pierce and husband Mark of Altoona, Kan., Terri-Lynn Hershberger and husband Rex of Toronto, Kan., Craig Scott and wife Micheel of Des Moines, Iowa, Jack Scott and wife Heather of Millinocket; 31 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Norman served in the U.S. Army for four years, stationed in Paris, France. While in France, he drove for the American Embassy. He worked for Great Northern Paper Mill for 25 years. He was a member of the ELKS #1521. He was a devoted husband and father. He was loved very much by his family and friends. He had many friends and loved spending time with them talking about hunting, golfing and fishing. When he moved from Waterville to Millinocket for work, the first friend he met was Bob Cutliffe, who became his best friend through the years. Other very good friends include Scott Steffy from Litz, Pa., Terry Dunbar, Ricky Leavitt, Terry Leavitt, all of Millinocket. They were his golfing, hunting and fishing buddies. He appreciated all the nurses at Millinocket Regional Hospital and Maine Medical in Portland. He appreciated all that Dr. Dunstan, Dr. Kowalski and Dr. Espinosa did for him. He loved his caregivers from Community Health & Counseling, Debbie Kranich, Donna Graham & Nancy Theriault. He will be forever loved and missed by all his family and friends. There will be a service in the spring to be held at the Millinocket Church of Nazarene on Forest Avenue, May 30, at 1 pm. There will be a luncheon following the service at the Nazarene Church Fellowship Hall. The family has asked in lieu of flowers to please send donations to the Katahdin Area Support Group.
