Obituary of G. Barbara Scott

G. Barbara Scott died on Jan. 21, 2015 at the age of 95. She was a resident of the Glenridge Nursing Home, Cove neighborhood, in Augusta, ME. She was born on July 9, 1919 in Freedom, ME to Herbert and Maenon Bradstreet of Freedom. Barbara graduated from Freedom Academy in 1936 and from the Bangor School of Commerce in 1938. She was married on Jan. 11, 1940 to Frank I. Scott of Bangor and they were divorced in 1969. After her divorce, Barbara worked at the Belfast Water District as bookkeeper until her retirement in 1983. Barbara was pre deceased by her siblings, Arlene B. Jackson of Freedom, John Edwin Bradstreet of Belfast, Doris E. Cleaves of E. Winthrop and Francis Bryant of Belfast. She is survived by her children, Robert S. Scott and wife Carolyn of Milford, ME and by Barbara A. Scott of Augusta, ME. She also has a grandson, Kevin R. Scott of Belfast, 3 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Per Barbara’s request there will be no public visitation or service. Interment will be private at Grove Cemetery in Belfast ME in the spring. Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home, Belfast.
