Obituary of Yvette L Chaney

York, ME – Yvette L. Chaney, 101, died Wednesday, March 11, 2015. Yvette was born on November 24, 1913 in Brunswick, Maine to Lea and Alfred Racine; she was the fifth child of fourteen children. Yvette married John A. Chaney in 1934. They had two Children, John A. Chaney, of Cape Neddick, Maine and Raymond B. Chaney of Connecticut, who passed away in November, 2014. Yvette had five Grandchildren, Shelly Chaney of Cape Neddick, Maine, Kimberly Chaney of Buxton, Maine and Andrew, Bryan and Jody Chaney of Connecticut. Yvette also had three Great-grandchildren, Lauren Carpenter of Cape Neddick, Maine and Bryan, Alecia and Madison Chaney of Connecticut. Yvette spent many years living in Kittery, Maine. She volunteered at York Hospital, The Harbor Home and also York Senior Center. She enjoyed hobbies of knitting, sewing and cooking. Yvette also enjoyed traveling. She visited many places in the United States as well as Spain, Italy and Africa. She lived independently until she was 98 years old.
