Obituary of Kenneth H Kimball

Kenneth “Kenny” Haden Kimball, Sr., 65, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 6th, 2015 at Waldo County Hospital in Belfast, Maine. He was born November 29th, 1949 in Danvers, Massachusetts to Clement Lakeman and Shirley Jean (Eaton) Kimball. Ken grew up in Searsport, Maine with his family. Before high school graduation Ken enlisted with the Air Force on June 6th, 1968. Ken received his high school equivalency at Hahn’s Air Force Base in Germany and continued in the Air Force until November 26th, 1973. After the Air Force Ken went on active duty with the Air National Guard. On October 13th, 1976 Ken enlisted with the Navy until his Honorable discharge on September 23rd, 1988. Ken held various positions in the Air Force and Navy that consisted of Aircraft Fuel Technician, Minuteman Titan 2 Missile Systems Cable Splicer, Maintenance Management, Aviation Boatswain's Mate Fuels and Flight Deck LPO. After his service, Ken graduated from Kennebec Valley Technical College as an Electrician. Later he obtained his licenses as a Journeyman Plumber and Master Burner Technician. Later in life, Ken was the Manager of the Electrical Department at Lowe’s in Bangor. Ken married Kathryn Littlefield on February 28th 1976 in Unity, Maine. They were happily married for 39 years. Ken loved to tinker, go camping, boating, watch science fiction television shows and movies, spending time with his family, friends and pets. Ken was preceded in death by his parents Clement and Shirley Kimball. Ken is survived by his spouse Kathryn of Jackson, Maine; his son Kenneth (Kristy) Kimball Jr. of Bangor, Maine; daughter Wendy (Eric) Bradford of Waterville, Maine; son Mark (Lisa) Kimball of Bangor, Maine; and son Jeremy (Tanya) Kimball of Palo Alto, California; his Grandchildren Jeffrey Emery, Michela, Jonathan and Gunner Kimball, Josh and Jason Knight. Ken is also survived by his siblings; brother Leroy (Penny) Kimball; sister Karen Ann Agana; sister Jackie (Ricky) Howard, sister Cindy (Gene) Gibbs, brother Steven (Cathy) Kimball, brother Christian (Lynn) Kimball, sister Nancy (John) Viehmann; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and pets. A memorial service will be held at Riposta’s Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast, Maine, at 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, April 13th, 2015. The family will be greeting friends and relatives during this time. A gathering after the memorial service to celebrate Ken’s life will be held at 3 Heritage Drive in Searsport, Maine.
