Obituary of Caroline Lindt
Caroline Lindt passed away on May 4, 2015, from complications of pneumonia on a sunny and brilliantly blue day in the presence of her beloved children and devoted dog. Born to August Lindt and Susanna Dunsterville van Doorninck, she grew up in England and Switzerland, and has found her home for the last 30 years in her house by the river in Searsmont, Maine. She was adored by her son, Eric Ostroff; daughters, Mika Ostroff Geiger and husband Matthew and Gia Ostroff Welsh and her husband, Jamie; grandchildren, Kiana and Sean Geiger, and Ethan and Aidan Welsh; sister, Gillian Lindt; brother, Michael Lindt and his wife Caroline; nieces, Karin Gollin and her husband David and Anna Lindt; nephews, Paul Lindt and his partner Danny, and Mark Gollin and his wife Lydia; great-niece, Olivia; and great-nephews, Elijah, Harry, and Luke.
Caroline cherished, celebrated, and nurtured her children, family, animals, and friends. She loved gardening and time spent outdoors. She laughed easily, cared deeply, and lived gently. The world is, we are certain, a better place because of her.
Services will be held at the Searsmont United Methodist Church 18 Maine Street North at 10:00am on Saturday, May 9.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in her name to the Center for Wildlife, so as to honor her passion for nurturing all creatures. Donations can be made online www.yorkcenterforwildlife.org or by mail 385 Mountain Rd, York, ME 03909.
