Obituary of Fay Fisher Adams Snyder

Fay Fisher Adams Snyder of the Highlands in Topsham, Maine died on May 15 with her husband Harry at her bedside. They met while attending Bucknell University, where she was completing her M.A. in Government. Upon hearing Fay sing a solo in church, Harry knew he had to meet her. They married in 1946 after six months of dancing to nickel juke boxes and ice-skating. Before marrying, Fay taught high school, but her avocation was music to which she devoted her energy during her years of motherhood and homemaking. Always supportive of Harry, she packed and unpacked the boxes, from Pennsylvania to Massachusetts to Maine to North Carolina and back to Maine. Fay loved stories of family, news from their many friends, taking classes in oil painting, the ups and downs of New England sports teams, and the opportunity to stretch a bid in a bridge game. Harry and their children, Jim, Beth, Ted and Greg, and their families of ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren will always remember her loving and generous nature.
