Obituary of Guy Ernest Hanson

MONROE - GUY E. HANSON JR., 80, passed away at home in Monroe peacefully with his family by his side on August 7, 2015 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born in Brooks January 8, 1935 to Guy and Doris (Stimpson) Hanson Sr. Guy attended school in Brooks and was married in 1953. He worked for Penobscot Poultry before starting his construction business, Guy Hanson & Son Construction and Hanson Industries. In his spare time he loved to hunt and fish, but most of all he loved his work. He was predeceased by both parents and a sister, Mildred Stubbs. Guy is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bunny Hanson of Monroe; his son Wayne Hanson, his daughter Linda Hanson-Bosch (John), both of Monroe; his grandchildren, Wade Brown and wife Monica, Matthew Brown and wife Holly, Angel Califano and husband B.J., James Brown, Mark Brown, Jennifer Ponder; nine great-grandchildren; two nieces, Geraldine Clark and Lorraine Ryan. Family and friends are invited to call from 6-7 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the Riposta Funeral Home with Pastor Brent Trueworthy officiating. Burial will follow at Monroe Village Cemetery in Monroe.
