Obituary of Mark Ryan List

RINGGOLD - In the morning of August 8, 2015, Mark Ryan List passed away in Fryeburg, Maine, from a massive heart attack. At the time of passing, Mark was 59 years old. Mark was born in Akron, Ohio on April 30, 1956. He was the fourth child of Bud and Jean Marie List; brother to Elizabeth, Jim, Mary Jo, and JB. Mark grew up in Ohio, then moved to Andover, Massachusetts to attend Phillips Academy for high school. He studied at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was an All-American swimmer. Mark met his wife of 35 years, Bonny at UNC. Mark and Bonny moved to Seattle for 12 years, where their three children, Luke, Bekah, and Sarah were born. Since 1993, the Lists have resided in North Georgia. Mark poured his life and energy into the lives of his children. He loved and supported them in all aspects of their lives. Mark had a passion for swimming and inspiring young swimmers to love the sport, strive to be their best, and enjoy the journey of working hard. Mark was a vivacious, encouraging, faithful, loving, and kind friend to all. He valued everyone he met as someone whose story deserved to be heard. He brought life and spread joy in every situation. Mark was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, coach, and friend. Though he will be truly missed, he is rejoicing in Heaven with His Savior, Jesus.
