Obituary of Frances F. Libby

Frances F Libby, 93 passed away on Sunday, September 13 at Downeast Community Hospital in Machias. Frances was born January 5, 1922 in Machiasport to Hammond and Lucy Flynn. She was predeceased by her husband Willard Libby in 1994. Frances was an active member of the Larrabee Baptist Church for 37 years and especially looked forward to “eating Sunday.” She was also a member of the Eastern Star, until recently the long-time treasurer of the Church Hill Cemetery Association, and enjoyed working the polls in Machiasport which she did until June of this year. Frances is survived by her daughters Lois A and Sally A of Machiasport, and a stepson Bill Libby and his wife Nedra of California. She will be greatly missed by friends Tina Davis, Robert and Jeanne Davis, Pastor Bill and Judy Holmes, as well as all the members of Larrabee Baptist Church. Many thanks to the staff at Marshall Healthcare and Downeast Community Hospital for the exceptional care they gave Frances in the last months of her life. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 26 at 1:00 pm at the Church Hill Cemetery in Machiasport with a gathering at the Larrabee Baptist Church immediately following. Arrangements are under the care of Direct Cremation of Maine, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast.
