Obituary of Dannie D. Davis

Dannie D. Davis, age 76, passed away at Maine General Medical Center in Augusta September 29, 2015 from pneumonia after a period of declining health. Dannie was born 7-11-39 in Welch, WV to Leroy and Geneva (Perkins) Davis, one of five children, brothers James Lee, Ernest and Robert Davis and sister Rosalie (Davis) Roark. Dannie retired in 1981 from Marriott Corp in Washington DC after 20 years service. At that time Dannie moved to Maine where he enjoyed painting, jewelry and stained glass crafting and raising Bull Mastiff dogs. In earlier years Dannie enjoyed snowmobiling with longtime companion James Houghton who predeceased Dannie. At Dannie's request there will not be a formal funeral service but a memorial will be held at the family plot behind Dannie's house on November 14th at 2:00pm. Close friends are invited to come and share memories. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
