Obituary of G. Leroy Hunter

G. Leroy Hunter, 97, of Unity, Maine, passed away peacefully at home with family October, 5, 2015. Hunter was born in Unity, Maine, September 28, 1918 to Gaunce and Amber (Grass) Hunter. He was one of nine children. He married Bertha Rose Russell June 21, 1941. She preceded him in death May 22, 2001. After military service in the Army during World War II, Hunter settled back in Unity establishing Quaker Hill Farm. He made a life-long commitment to farming, friendship and faithful service to the Lord. He is survived by his four children Russell, Alan, Jayne and Tom; their spouses Cookie, Sue, Steve and Linda; brother Vaughn of Carlisle, PA; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held October 17th at Quaker Hill Christian Church in Unity at 11:00 a.m. where he was a long term member. Reception will follow at the Performing Arts Building in Unity from Noon to 2:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Quaker Hill Christian Church.
