Obituary of Richard J. Ryan

NORTHPORT Richard J. Ryan, 79, of Northport passed away on October 10, 2015 at Waldo County General Hospital. He was born August 19, 1936, the son of Raymond Ryan Sr. and Lorena (Tower) Ryan. Richard was a veteran of the Korean War. He loved his classic cars, and he and Shirley enjoyed many nice winters together in Florida. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Raymond Ryan Jr., Ronald Ryan, sister Harriet Ryan McTaggart and first wife Ramona Ryan. He is survived by his companion of 11 1/2 years, Shirley Harvey of Northport. Also survived by his siblings Lorraine Cross of Belmont, Shirley Hawes of Rockport, Janis Cobb of Belmont, Roger Ryan of Belmont, Kenneth Ryan Sr. and Jeanne Ryan of Northport. A private graveside service will be held at Grove Cemetery in Belfast at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast.
