Obituary of Glenn Edward Buckingham
CAMDEN — Glenn Edward "Ace" Buckingham, son of Harry Morgan Buckingham and Mildred Lisbeth Dupree, passed away at his home, happy, loved and surrounded by his children, Oct. 29, 2015.
A 42-year proud Mainer, Glenn originally hailed from Michigan. He grew up playing baseball and ice hockey in and around the Detroit metro area. He graduated as an English major from Wayne State University and shortly afterwards moved to Maine, where he and friends built his first house in Liberty, leading to a very full and gratifying life.
Glenn spent many years in service of his Knox County community on the Riley School board, as an integral partner at Hand to Hand, and the Camden Rotary Club. He was also on the board as well as a performer for the Mid Coast Community Choir and was a founding member of The Hawks men's team. He was honored and privileged to serve his clients as a financial manager for the last 29 years and more recently with his business, Buckingham Financial Designs, P.C.
Glenn had a strong passion for music, sports and lakeside campfire shenanigans, which he had plenty of with his family and friends in his last days at his pond house known as Just Enough.
His family invites friends to join in celebrating his life Sunday, Nov. 1, at the Camden Snowbowl from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to "Riley Scholarship Fund" at Buckingham Financial Designs, 24 Bayview St., Ste. 2, Camden, ME 04843.
