Obituary of James E. Doak
WALDO
JAMES “CHIP” E. DOAK, JR., 55 of Waldo, passed away on November 14, 2015 surrounded by his family after a lengthy battle with heart disease. He was born in Belfast on September 2, 1960, the son of James E. and Dora (Clifford) Doak of Waldo. Chip was a 1978 graduate of Mt. View High School in Thorndike. He was a very talented carpenter, but his greatest joy was working in the woods as a logger. He also enjoyed the company of his dog, Sadie. Chip was predeceased by his father in 1998. He is survived by his loving mother of Waldo; two daughters and four grandchildren, Amy Lee Doak of Bangor and her son Dakota, Jessica Anne Doak of Waldo and her children Aiden, Stefan and Elena; one brother David Doak and his wife Bernys of Monroe; three sisters, Rebecca Piel and her husband Thomas of Belfast, Camilla Doak of Bangor and Susan Smith and her husband Keryn of Surry; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Chip was deeply loved and will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. We will all miss his quick wit and ability to make you laugh as well as his kind heart.
At Chip’s request, there will be no formal service. Please join us for an open house in celebration of his life at the family farm in Waldo on Sunday, November 22nd from 2-4 p.m. Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast.
