Obituary of Ronald F Gray
Ronald F Gray, Addison – born July 11, 1937 to Reginald F and Cora (Drisko) Gray. Ronald’s life journey ended November 18, 2015. He was predeceased by both of his parents and he leaves behind the love of his life – Charlene (Tucker) Gray. They spent 57+ years together and had five children: Lorena F and husband Rusty Gay of Cherryfield, ME; Pamela J and husband Christopher Doane of Chesapeake, VA; Grace L Falzarano and partner John Porter of Columbia Falls, ME; Eve M and husband Richard Alley of Addison, ME; and Ronald A and wife Annette Gray of Addison, ME; as well as fourteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Ronald leaves behind his two sisters: Adelaide (Gray) Garnett and husband Robert of North Anson, ME; Sally (Gray) Beal and husband Hillson of Bangor, ME; sisters-in-law: Beverly LeBlanc of Belfast, ME; Donalene Chandler and friend George Couturier of Auburn, ME; Annette Reed and husband Robert of Reston, VA; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In his early years, Ronald drove a truck and later became self employed cutting wood during the winter, owned his own construction business and later a convenience store/game room. Some of his greatest accomplishments were building chimneys and being creative with metals. He built three beautiful homes with the last one just being finished three years ago. His rock walls are a thing of beauty as well as the park he created with some of his metal works.
As a great researcher, Ronald published one book on the history of Indian River and has another book in the works that will be published at a later date. Ronald has been a life long member of the Indian River Cemetery Society, former member of the Indian River Grange, a member of the Pleasant River Historic Society and a former member of the planning board in the Town of Addison.
Ronald will be greatly missed by his family and close friends. Graveside service will be at the Indian River Cemetery in Jonesport on November 28th at 10 am following with a celebration of life to be held at the Masonic Tuscan Lodge #106 in Addison.
