Obituary of Deborah F Peabody

Deborah F. Peabody, 65, of Stonington died November 29, 2015. She was born December 19, 1949. She was the daughter of Shirley and Barbara (Hutchinson) Nevells. She was a member of the Rockbound Rebekah Lodge in Stonington. She worked at the Stonington canning company for many years and also at the Island Nursing Home. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Charlie Peabody; one daughter, Peggy Yurchick and her husband Lucas, three sons, Alton Smith and his wife Sylvia, Rodney Smith Jr., and David Smith, all of Deer Isle; eight grandchildren, Charles, Robert and Katie Proper, Alton (Jr.), Brittany and Meranda Smith, Courteney Meade, Brianna Smith; six great-grandchildren, Chevy and Chelsea Proper, Ashton and Chase Larrabee, Audry Proper, Bryant Meade; step-granddaughter Des Yurchick; one brother, Howard Nevells and his wife Janet of Stonington; one sister, Nola Donovan and her husband Gerald of Deer Isle; several nieces and nephews and cousins. Deborah was predeceased by her parents; one brother, Thomas and four sisters, Mildred, Etheline, Judith and Deanna; one nephew, Jacob; one niece, Jo-ann; and one granddaughter, Lynn. We would like to express our deepest appreciation to the Deer Isle-Stonington Memorial Ambulance Corps crew that were there for doing all they did. A graveside service will be held at the Oceanville Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.
