Obituary of Frederick D O'Brien

ROCKPORT - Frederick D. O’Brien, 68, passed away on November 30, 2015 at Sussman House in Rockport. Fred was born in Sodus, New York on September 14, 1947 to Charles Frederick and Elizabeth Dale (Criswell) O'Brien. Fred was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend and confidant to many. An artist and lover of the outdoors, he was a tool and die maker, a craftsman, a knife smith, an inventor and in the 1980s and 90s was a member of the National Ski Patrol. Fred was predeceased by his parents, his sister Elizabeth Ruth O’Brien Bodine and his dog Pooper. He is survived by his wife of 19 years Gayle O’Brien of Rockport; his children Kelly O’Brien Ball and her husband Charlie of Thomaston and Darcey O’Brien and her husband Adrian Bell of Homestead, FL; step-children Jasimine of Presque Isle and Michael Doucette of Warren; grandchildren Molly, Alexander, Nimaway, Diania, Grady, and Lea; great-grandchildren Chase and Grace Ray; niece Dawn Brown and nephew John Bodine of NY; and pets Bear and Buddy.
