Obituary of Wayne Jewett

Wayne Jewett, 63, of Swanville, died early Saturday morning, June 4, 2016, from an aggressive cancer. He had been at EMMC in Bangor since April 5 and was able to come home May 23. Wayne was born Oct. 31, 1952, in Providence, Rhode Island, moving to Maine in July 2005 to pursue his love of the mountains, ocean and his art career. He worked for Maine Sport Outfitters in Rockport for 10 years. He is predeceased by his father Leonard Jewett of Montana. He is survived by his mother Diane Jewett of Florida, sister Wendy Jewett of North Carolina, brother Murray Jewett of Montana, and sweetheart Lori Jewett of Swanville. There will be a celebration of Wayne’s life on Aug. 13 and 14 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at his home and studio in Swanville.
