Obituary of Robin Edward Stockbridge
Robin Stockbridge, 49, of Rockland, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday June 16th 2016. He was born on February 6th, 1967 in Rockland Me, the son of Janice Widdecomb Kelley and the late Kenneth Lee Stockbridge.
He attended local schools and obtained his GED to enlist in the Army. In his younger years, he started lobstering by the age of 10. After high school, Robin had many jobs and he spent many years as a boat builder at North End Composite in the Rockland Industrial Park. After that he changed careers and took a job at Augusta Mental Health Hospital, and worked there for many years. Then he continued his work with the Handicapped at ESM in Augusta.
During his free time you could find him with his son out fishing or hunting; he loved the outdoors and going camping off the grid. Together with his son, they found a new hobby together and started trapping. Robin also had great knowledge and love of guns, which he shared with his son.
Robin was predeceased by his father Kenneth Stockbridge of Appleton ME, and his grandmother Hilda Stockbridge, also of Appleton ME. He is survived by his mother Janice Kelley of Rockland ME, his son Daniel Stockbridge of Rockland ME, his great-grandmother Blanche Widdecomb of Camden ME, and his sister Stephanie Bryant Urda of Clarks Summit, PA, and several cousins.
A private grave side service will be held at a later date in Appleton ME. Arrangements are under the care of Direct Cremation of Maine, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.directcremationofmaine.com.
