Obituary of Laura R. Nelson

Laura Ruth Nelson, 62, died peacefully on June 18, 2016 surrounded by her family, at the Sussman House in Rockport. Laura was born in Hope, Maine on May 31, 1954 and grew up in Searsmont, Maine. She was employed by Progressive Housing Association for over 20 years where she cared for adults with disabilities, until failing health forced her to retire. Laura was also a 25 year member of the Arbutus Chapter #19 O.E.S. She is survived by her mother, Carolyn Boivin of Morrill. Her daughter, Selena Miller and her companion Jerry Pearse of Warren; her son, Anthony Nelson and his wife Sara of Warren; her grandchildren Damian Miller, Deven Pearse, Riley Nelson and Ava Jane Nelson. Brothers, Robert Payne of Lincolnville and Terry Boivin of Upper Black Eddy, PA; sister, Shari Massero of Beverly, MA.; step siblings David Boivin, Steve Boivin, Mary Ann Boody, Jennifer Newman, Louise Henderickson and Pamela Cuthbertson; the father of her children Ronald Nelson; her father Ralph Pease of Appleton; her beloved cat, Celeste and several aunts, uncles nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Elwood and Ruth Cooper and her stepfather Henry Boivin. The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to the Sussman House staff for their amazing compassion and kindness during this rough time. At her request, there will be no funeral service. Burial will be at Hunt Memorial Cemetery in Liberty at the convenience of the family.
