Obituary of Blaise Botti

Blaise Botti, loving husband to Monica Botti, passed away at the age of 73 on Sunday, June 16, 2019, Blaise, son of Nick and Anne Botti, was born on February 14th, 1946 and grew up in East McKeesport, PA. During high school he completed two years in the Navy Reserves, and then went on to spent two more years’ active duty in the Navy. During that time his service took him to the Mediterranean where he loved every minute – consequently he was able to travel around Europe where he enjoyed eating great food and immersing himself in the European culture. From there he attended diving school and dove commercially along the eastern seaboard. Blaise was also the first one to skydive successfully with the Cap 10 sky-diving system. He had a zeal for adventure and loved to travel- especially to the Caribbean to enjoy the beaches there. Blaise had a passion for art and wildlife and strove to portray movement in his glass art as well as in wildlife photography. Two of his beautiful glass designs were chosen for the front cover of the Smithsonian gift catalog. Later on, photography became his focus, particularly birds in flight and he carried his camera everywhere. He had a great sense of humor, and some of the best times in Richmond, Maine were spent on his Pontoon boat cruising up the Kennebec and enjoying time at the “swimming hole" off Swan Island. The dockside camaraderie was also a treasured time with much laughter and stories to share. His tennis team friends can speak to his love of the game and more good times. Blaise will be remembered for his zest for life, his crazy sense of humor, his love of good food and wine, his sparkling baby blues, and most of all, his never-ending love for his soul mate and wife Monica. Blaise is survived by wife Monica, sister, Mary Ann Bridge and husband Steve, Brother, Nick Botti and wife Regina, as well as his nieces, nephews, and cousins. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
