Obituary of Rebecca Dolloff
Rebecca “Becky” Dolloff, 67, of Boothbay, passed away peacefully at Midcoast Hospital in Brunswick surrounded by loved ones on the afternoon of March 1st, 2019, following a brief illness.
Born January 30, 1952, she was the daughter of Frances “Fran” Mank of Waldoboro and the late Alva Farrin of South Bristol. Becky was born in Damariscotta and moved to Boothbay at a young age. She attended Boothbay schools and worked various jobs throughout the years. She married Gerald Dolloff in 1971 and they had two children, Brian and Eric.
She was a selfless woman whose first priority in life was caring for her family and friends. Anyone who knew Becky knew that her children and grandchildren always came first. She spent her life caring for others and that’s what made her happy. She always reminded them how proud she was of them and how much she loved them.
Becky loved being a grandmother more than anything in life. Nothing was more important to her than spending time with her grandkids and watching them grow up. You could often find her attending their school events, tennis matches, basketball games or whatever else they were involved in. She developed a special bond with her granddaughter Eve. From the time she was born the two were inseparable. Where you would find one, you would most likely find the other. Later in life, the two of them, along with “Fran” would often strike out on weekends looking to get into whatever kind of mischief they could find.
Becky enjoyed being outside. You could always find her working in the garden, mowing the lawn or just sitting on the deck enjoying the sun. She had a “green thumb” and could grow just about anything. She also enjoyed camping and traveling and held a special fondness for Mexico where she made multiple road trips. Another of her favorite activities was playing Scrabble with her lifelong friend Winthrop Farmer. You never knew when these two were going to strike up a game.
Becky was predeceased by her father Alva Farrin; two stepfathers, Rostron Connors and Edwin Mank; her brother Jerome “Jerry” Farrin, her sister Ruth Farrin and her sister-in-law Robin (Smith) Farrin.
She is survived by her two sons: Brian Dolloff and his wife Anne of Boothbay and Eric Dolloff and his wife Tamara of Newcastle; her mother Frances Mank of Waldoboro; two brothers, Patrick Farrin of Boothbay and Bruce Farrin and his wife Judy of Walpole; a sister, Cindy (Connors) Santheson and her husband Kyle of Waldoboro; her sister-in-law Lilla (Benner) Farrin of New Harbor; Granddaughter Eve Dolloff; Grandsons jayden and Gavin; special friend Winthrop Farmer of Boothbayas well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of Becky’s life will be held at the convenience of the family in the spring. Arrangements are under the care of Direct Cremation of Maine. Condolences and messages for the family, may be mailed to; c/o Brian Dolloff, 16 Carlisle Dr., Boothbay, ME, 04537.
