Obituary of Deborah J. Hustus

Deborah J. Hustus June 23, 1950 – January 11, 2019 I’ve taken it upon myself to do my obit. Write up on my own. I pray in doing so I don’t offend anyone or leave someone out. If so, please accept my apologies. I’m sure I passed away peacefully with my family and boys by my side in the care of Hospice Home Care at Glenridge in Augusta ME on January 11, 2019 after being diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer on October 7, 2017. I had the best care anyone can possibly have through my boys, siblings, grandchildren, friends and hospice at Glenridge Homecare. I was able to stay in my own little abode that my son had built for me attached to his garage right along Cobbosee stream in Litchfield, ME. I was at so much peace there with the flower garden that everyone contributed to as well as my patio right outside my bedroom door where I could sit and listen to the night time noises of the loons on the water. I loved watching the boats go down by as well. I enjoyed our family cookouts, birthday parties, graduation parties and family get togethers all in my back yard. I was educated in the Gardiner Schools and worked at the various jobs in the area. I mostly stayed home and raised my boys the best that I could. I married Wayne Thornton February 19, 1969 and together we had 3 awesome boys. Wayne of Augusta, William of Litchfield and Bruce of Chelsea. Later I married Lance E. Hustus and acquired 2 step children, Heather Wells and child. Joshua and Dianne of Brunswick, GA and Lance L.L. Hustus of Calais, ME. I leave behind 2 very special granddaughters, Hailey Jane Taker and Samantha Sue Thornton, Chelsea ME. Along with their Mom, Kimberly and their special aunt Heather Chatman. I also leave behind my sister Dorothy and husband David Kirk, Augusta and by brothers, William MacFarlane of Augusta, Graham MacFarlane of Sabbatus, Jon of Waldoboro, Harvard of South Portland and Dale Pushard of Farmington. I was predeceased by my mom, Ruth N. Pushard in 1981; my Dad, William E. MacFarlane in 1979 and also Lance Hustus, the love of my life in March of 2015. I was also predeceased by my sister Donna Dickenson of Florida, Dee-Ann MacFarlane of Augusta, Joyce N. MacFarlane of Augusta, Peter MacFarlane of Lewiston and Robert MacFarlane of Augusta. I would like to say goodbye for now to my friends Pearl Moody from FL and Patrick Bellino from Standish, ME. Thank you for being real. A special thanks to Al and Dottie McMaster for being there and Al for opening my eyes and helping me find the Lord and feel close to him. And a very special thanks to my boys for making me proud and for all your love and support through this wonderful journey of mine. There will be a celebration of life wherever my boys choose at a later date where Lance and I will be placed together for eternity in the afterlife.
