Donna J Snay 1951-2018
Donna J Snay, age 67, passed away Saturday December 22, 2018, from an illness. She was born in Lewiston September 27, 1951, to Rudolph R Snay & Alfreda M (Carroll) Snay. She grew up in Durham/ Lisbon Falls where she was educated in local schools, she also lived in Auburn, ME, Tyngsboro, MA & Memphis, TN.
Donna was always an avid learner. In 1974 she attended Plus Gray's School of Business in Lewiston. In 1989 Donna was a substitute teacher in Special education and multiage classes. She received her ED Tech 1 certificate, working with children 5-20 years of age until 2007 at Gray/New Gloucester, Buckfield & Turner Schools.
First & foremost Donna was a wonderful mother to her three children. In 1994 she became a Mary Kay Consultant, she also cleaned homes for many clients, this allowed her to be a stay at home mom during her children's young ages.
Through the years she added more schooling, in 1999 she received her Commercial Driving License from Women's Unlimited. She drove trucks & passenger buses. She worked a few winters at Sunday River in Bethel driving the ski buses.
In 2008 she took her Real Estate exam and become a licensed realtor. She was an active Broker & Realtor in Norway Me with the Western Maine Board of Realtors. She was licensed with Stan Tupaj at Kezar Realty in Lovell. Learning & teaching was an importance in Donna's life. She enjoyed reaching out to help sellers & buyers learn more about Real Estate for themselves.
Donna lived in Oxford Hills next to her family. She looked forward to visiting her children & grandchildren weekly, they were the light of her life. She had a couple very close friends, David whom she enjoyed going to the casino with, and Colleen, she always enjoyed their conversations. Donna enjoyed talking on the phone with her sister Samantha daily. In her spare time you could find Donna enjoying her gardens, swimming, or at the ocean. She enjoyed cleaning, writing & reading. Donna was an independent women.
Donna is predeceased by her father Rudolph R Snay, mother Alfreda M White, aunt Mary C Snay, Brother Fred & granddaughter Jessica Abbott.
Donna is survived by her sister Samantha Colson & husband Charlie of Lisbon Falls, sister Barbara Dufresne & husband Charlie of Oxford, sister Debra Collins of Newport & sister Jenny Giguere of Newport; son Paul Abbott & girlfriend Susan of Windham, daughter Marie Theriault & husband Danny of Buckfield, daughter Pamela Sessions and husband Nate of Harrison, three granddaughters Ashley Abbott, Cassandra & Gabrielle Mcalister, three grandsons Ryan & Alex Sessions & Dylan Mcalister, one great grandson Jackson Hindricks, two very close friends David Bradeen of Hartford & Colleen of Turner.
