Obituary of Ervin L. Barnes

Ervin L. Barnes of Mapleton and Washburn Maine passed away September 25th, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born November 17, 1952, in Caribou, Maine, the son of Marvin L. Barnes and step mother Marie Barnes. He is survived by his daughter Erin Valone and her husband Matt of Portage Maine; step-daughter Nikki Butler and her husband Michael of Limestone, Maine; step mother Marie Barnes of South Windsor, CT; brothers Chester Barnes of Windsor, CT; Alan Barnes of Bloomfield, CT; Joel Barnes and his wife Crystal of Enfield, CT; and sister Melinda Farley and her husband Wesley of South Windsor, CT, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Larry Barnes, father Marvin Barnes, and his grandparents Ervin and Ruth Barnes, who helped raise him. Ervin was an avid carpenter and spent most of his career building and fixing things but nothing gave him greater pleasure in life then spending time on his boat fishing. The family would like to thank his friends and the residents of Maple Tree Estates in Mapleton for the love and care they provided while he battled cancer, especially his girlfriend, Mary McCausland and friends Dave and Bonnie. He enjoyed spending time with them and playing games and will be truly missed by all who knew him. A memorial service of his life will be held in the summer of 2019, date to be announced.
