Obituary of Susan J. Chandler

Susan J. Chandler, 66 of Cherryfield- It is with great sadness that the family of Susan J. Chandler announces her passing, on July 21, 2018, after an aggressive battle with cancer. Sue was born on April 7, 1952 in Massachusetts, the daughter of Bob and June (Murray) Warnock. She attended school in Massachusetts. She and her family enjoyed many trips to the family’s farms in Nova Scotia, throughout the years, during summer vacations. With many cherished memories from her childhood, Sue had a special bond with each and every member of her family. She took pride in her relationships with others; the most prominent being the love she shared with her grandson, Phillip. Sue devoted her life to caring for others. She worked various positions in the mental health and medical field, attaining several certifications and recognitions. Sue completed several college classes and worked for many years as a CNA and Phlebotomist. She dedicated time to children and adults through her work with children’s programs and home health care. Sue impacted the lives of many people, most especially her children and grandson. She encouraged others, loved unconditionally, and selflessly helped everyone that she could. She was known for the ease with which she made friends; she created lifelong friendships all across the United States and Nova Scotia. Sue would spread joy and laughter, everywhere that she went, through her quick wit and creative expression. With a strong love for animals she cared for many beloved pets during her life, most notably a pet monkey. She trained horses for many years and attended numerous horse shows. With a passion for the outdoors she enjoyed camping trips, kayaking, motorcycle rides, and hunting; fulfilling her moose permit at one point. Sue was predeceased by her son, Bobby Baker, and her parents Bob and June Warnock. She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Thurlow; her grandson, Phillip Burgin; daughters Kristen Chandler, Amanda Chandler and wife Ashley, and their father Michael Chandler. She is also survived by her brother, Steve Warnock and wife Debbie; her niece, Jodi Morin, husband Jeff, and their children Travis and Maddy; her niece, Jennifer McCullough; her nephew, Jamie McCullough, wife Lori, and their children Sam and Jack; and her cousin, Robin Douglas and partner Wayne. She leaves behind her special friend, Clifford Norton, in addition to many cousins and life long friends: Felicia Burgin and son Braven, Alexis Burgin, Donna Campbell, Donna Serrato, Cindy Mawson, and Yvonne Sinclair. The family wishes to thank everyone for their support and kindness during this difficult time. Sue will be greatly missed and remembered by many people. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 2nd at 11:00 am, at Evergreen Cemetery in Milbridge.
