Obituary of Robert J. Cowette
Robert "Bob" Jean Cowette, 85 of Sangerville, passed April 30, 2018 in Dover-Foxcroft. He was born June 3, 1932 in Skowhegan to Alton Frank and Beulah (Lambert) Cowette.
Bob graduated from Skowhegan High School, Class of 1952. He was drafted into the Army in 1953. On July 1, 1961, he married Vyrona (Todd) Cowette. He worked for Norrwock Shoe for over 30 years until he became disabled. In Bob's younger years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, picking berries and fiddleheads with his family. In later years, he enjoyed putting puzzles together. Even though he was disabled, he always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye.
Bob is survived by his wife of 56 years, Vyrona Cowette; two daughters, Roberta Draper and husband Mike, Jody Noiles and husband Lorne; three grandsons Dana, Trapper and Dwight Noble; two step-grandchildren Travis Noiles and Heather Cookson; three great grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Craig Cowette, both parents, his in-laws Glendon and Alice Todd, a sister Rita and her husband Lloyd (Runt) Knowles, three sisters-in-law and one great-step-grandson.
A graveside service will be held Saturday May 12, 2018 at 2:00 pm Southside Cemetery in Skowhegan,
