Obituary of Charles William Treyball
Charles William Treyball, 57, of Brooksville passed away peacefully at his home after a courageous battle with stomach cancer on April 9, 2018, at 2:22 a.m. He was born June 19, 1960, to Dorothy Ann and Eugene Treyball in Bronx, N.Y.
Charlie was an organic farmer, stone mason and landscaper with a deep connection to the Earth and appreciation for its natural beauty. He studied human ecology and specialized in ornithology at College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor. He was owner and founder of Natural Rhythms Landscaping, leaving a legacy to his daughter Ruby, who will continue in his life work. For his family, communities and the Earth, Charlie was a tender and nurturing caretaker; with love and wisdom, his strong gentle spirit, kindness and generosity touched all who crossed his path.
Charlie is survived by his mother; wife, Mona Pearl Treyball; children Zachary, Annika, Ruby and Jack; stepchildren Kattey, Dale, Brian, Megan and Duncan; grandchildren Zev, Ari and Madeline; siblings Keith and wife, Jennifer, Brendan and Renee; and brother-in-law Leonard Tillis. He was adored by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Charlie was predeceased by his father and aunt Rosaleen McKenna.
As Charlie’s health deteriorated, when asked how to help, Charlie only asked for you to be happy, love someone near you and pray for those in need. In his last days he was ordering seeds and planning the crops to come. His mother, wife, children and siblings graced his last days, caring for him so tenderly and completely with love in their hearts. His deeply loved wife, Mona, walked together with him in their many spiritual journeys and throughout his long illness. Zak, Annika, Ruby and Jack are a true legacy of his love and the greatest seeds he has nurtured to sprout in this world. Charlie’s Vajra Vidya Sangha’s prayers surrounded him hours before he passed and in the hours afterwards gracing his home and heart with their presence.
Charlie was a devout Buddhist and had a very special relationship with his precious root teacher Khen Rinpoche Lobzang Tsetan, founder of the Siddhartha School and abbot of Tashi Lhunpo Monastery If it moves you to make a charitable contribution, Charlie’s wish was to support the Siddhartha School, whose mission is to educate Tibetan children and to preserve Tibetan culture. Charlie and Mona have sponsored two beloved children from the school, Thinley Angmo and Stanzin Yangdol. A special fund has been set up in Charlie’s memory to provide a place for the children to come together pray, and sing each morning. Geshe Tsewang, the director of the Siddhartha School and a dear friend, led these children in prayer for Charlie during his final days and can be viewed online at: https://youtu.be/Skv1TUdG8Do.Donations: -https://donatenow.networkforgood.org/sspmemorialfund
