Obituary of Peter M. Tait
Peter M. Tait, 61, passed away unexpectedly on April 11, 2018 in a Bangor, Maine hospital. Peter was born on March 22, 1957 to Pearl Ann Dupuis Tait and Earl James Tait in Westbrook, Maine.
Pete graduated from Cape Elizabeth High School in 1976. He built his career as a chef. For the past 15 years, Pete enjoyed his position as the Executive Chef at The Best Western Plus in Waterville, Maine.
Pete was a big teddy bear of a man, well loved and respected. He had a great love for vintage cars and treasured his model collection which he proudly displayed behind glass doors for all to admire. Pete valued his true friends, loved camping, and always looked forward to playing Scrabble with Dee and their friends on Saturday nights.
He was predeceased by his parents, a sister: Carol Ann Whitney of Port Charlotte, Florida.
Pete is survived by his fiance’ DeAnna J. Bennett of Winslow, Maine and Dee’s children,
Stephen Fowler of Lewiston, Sean Fowler of Lewiston, Brian King of Hallowell and
the grands who loved him so much and called him PaPa; Taylor Fowler, Lucas Fowler and Chloe Fowler
A brother Terry Tait and wife Cathy of Raymond, Maine and sister Catherine Dupuis of Bath, Maine
He is also survived by nephews: Joshua Tait and Joseph Tait of Raymond, Maine, Dan Tait of Colorado, Russell Whitney and his wife Kelley of Port Charlotte, Florida and nephew Randy Whitney of Florida.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 28 at Noon at The Best Western Plus, 375 Main Street, Waterville. Casual dress such as jeans and T-shirts would be as Pete would have wanted.
