Obituary of JoAnne Marilyn Ricker

JoAnne Marilyn Richardson Ricker, 80 died February 24, 2018 at Lakewood Continuing Care Nursing Facility in Waterville, Maine. She was born June 14, 1937 in Monmouth, the youngest of five daughters of Jesse A. & Evelyn Jordan Richardson. JoAnne graduated from Monmouth Academy in 1955 where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She worked many different jobs in private industry mostly in accounting. She also worked 21 years for the State of Maine. In November, 1979 she married Howard G. Ricker who died in August, 1993. JoAnne had 3 children by a previous marriage, James, Joel and Jon Glynn. Her greatest sadness was the loss of her 3 boys. JoAnne had a strong faith and was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church for over 15 years and made many lasting friendships which she cherished. She had a special love of the ocean and visited whenever she could. Her favorite spot for her and Howard was Pemaquid Point where both their ashes will be scattered. Joanne was also predeceased by her four sisters Geraldine Brackett, Janice Doyan, Jean Brackett, Pauline Gove and her grandson Alex Glynn. She will be sadly missed by her grandsons Andrew Glynn of Vassalboro, Maine, Jason Gagnon of Gardiner, ME, Abraham & Gabriel Glynn of California, granddaughter Emily Glynn of Manchester, N.H., nieces Hope and her husband Nelson Pendexter of South China and Cheryl Macpherson of Otisfield, nephew Alan Gove and wife Nancy of mercer and 7 Great-grandchildren and many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. She is survived by her favorite brother-in –law Afton Gove of Winthrop, Maine and special friend Donna St Michel. A memorial service will be held at the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Farmingdale, Maine on March 17th at 2pm followed by a celebration of her life.
