Obituary of Carlton Wesley Frye
Carlton Wesley Frye,
90, of Milbridge Me. 569 Kansas Rd. Passed away peacefully with family on Sunday afternoon January 14. 2018, at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital, in Ellsworth Me. Carlton was born in Brockton Massachusetts at Goddard Hospital on February 26. 1927, the son of Grace & Daniel Frye, of Fryeville Me. He was one of three brothers, oldest was George Frye of Harrington Me, Carlton in the middle and the youngest Russel Frye of York Me. who all predeceased him. Carlton grew up in Fryeville on the Marshville Rd. Harrington Me. He went to school 1st thru 12 in Harrington schools. In late 1945 Carlton enlisted in the Navy, when he left Boot-Camp at Sampson NY. he was assigned to the Naval Destroyer USS John W. Weeks DD 701 as a Torpedo man. After Carlton’s Tour in the Navy he Married Constance Marie Stoddard of Addison Me. on November 24. 1948. Carlton’s surviving family members are he’s Son Clifton W. Frye of Milbridge Me. Granddaughter Dawn M. Hernandez of Elliott Me. Great Grandson Jonathan Hernandez of Newington CT. Great Granddaughter Pilar Tameres Geneus of Rode island. Great-Great Granddaughter Emeilia Constance Hernandez of Newington CT. Deceased immediate family members Are Carlton’s wife of 54 years Constance M. Frye of Kittery Me, and his Daughter Carla Jean Frye of York Me. In Carlton’s younger years he dug Clams, cut pulp wood, and lobster fished all in Harrington Me. Carlton always told the story about burning a rubber tire on the Mud-flats so he could warm his hands up, while digging clams in below zero weather at Wards Cove, on Ripley’s Neck. In 1956 he moved to Kittery Me. and started work for the Public Service Company of NH. He retired from the Power Company in 1987, and then he enjoyed 30 good years of retirement. He enjoyed Camping, Snowmobiling, and his Motorcycle’s, most of all he loved gardening, and he had quite a green thumb. After living in Kittery Me. for 59 years he moved to Milbridge Me. to live with his son Cliff & Daughter in-law Paula J. Checker. There will be no services at this time, a grave side service will be conducted this coming summer near the end of August in Forest Hill Cemetery, Harrington Me. The dates & times will be sent out on a later date to family & friends for Carlton’s graveside service.
